Culture
In Tharu culture, stories are how knowledge travels between generations. Evening storytelling sessions at the lodge connect you to a living oral tradition — stories of the forest, the river, and the people who have called this land home for centuries.
The Tharu tell stories of tiger encounters, flood spirits, harvest rituals, and the origins of their community's relationship with the Rapti River. Translated and shared through our local guides, these narratives bring the landscape around you to life in a completely different way.
Storytelling sessions are informal and conversational — held around the fire after dinner, led by a community elder or our senior local guide. Guests are encouraged to ask questions and share their own stories in return.
These sessions are entirely voluntary and available on request. They work best with small groups of 2-8 guests.
