A guided walk through Meghauli village connects you with the Tharu community — one of Nepal's most distinct indigenous groups, with a rich culture shaped by centuries of living alongside Chitwan's wildlife.
Meghauli is a Tharu village on the northern bank of the Rapti River. Walking through it with a local guide reveals a way of life that is both ancient and adapted — traditional mud and bamboo homes alongside smartphones, traditional farming methods alongside modern equipment.
Village walks are guided by members of our local team who know the community personally. You will see traditional weaving, visit the community kitchen gardens, and have the opportunity to meet families who have lived in Meghauli for generations.
These walks are conducted with full community consent and benefit — part of the proceeds support local development initiatives.
