Best Time to Visit
October – March (Peak Season)
Dry and cool. Best wildlife visibility as vegetation thins. Ideal for jungle walks, safaris, and bird watching. Book well in advance.
April – May (Pre-Monsoon)
Hot and dry. Excellent for tiger sightings as animals gather near water. Fewer tourists.
June – September (Monsoon)
Heavy rains, some roads and trails may close. Lush jungle but reduced visibility. We offer reduced rates. Check availability.
Our Recommendation
November to February for the best all-round experience — comfortable temperatures, excellent wildlife sightings, and clear skies.

Health & Safety
Vaccinations
No mandatory vaccinations for Nepal (unless arriving from a yellow fever zone). Recommended: Hepatitis A, Typhoid, Tetanus. Consult your doctor.
Malaria
Low risk in Chitwan but present. Anti-malarial medication is recommended for Terai lowland areas, especially during monsoon. Consult your GP.
Water
Do not drink tap water. We provide filtered drinking water at the lodge. Bottled water is also available.
Medical Facilities
Bharatpur has a hospital 30 minutes away. We have a first aid kit on-site and staff trained in wilderness first aid.

Currency & Money
Currency
Nepalese Rupee (NPR). USD and EUR are widely accepted at lodges. We accept cash and major credit cards.
ATMs
There are ATMs in Meghauli village. As in much of rural Nepal they can occasionally be out of cash or offline, so it is worth carrying some Nepali Rupees as a backup. Bharatpur (30 min) has more ATMs and money exchange offices.
Tipping
Tipping is customary and appreciated. A suggested tip for guides is NPR 500–1000 per day. Lodge staff tips can be left in the common tip box.
Bargaining
Bargaining is common in markets but not in lodges or restaurants with fixed prices.
